Chelsea v Manchester City preview
Manchester City head into Saturday's semi final as odds on favourites for victory, and will be desperate to get back to winning ways after their dreams of winning consecutive trebles were ended by their defeat to Real Madrid in their Champions League quarter final.
Pep Guardiola's side's defeat ended their 27-match unbeaten run in all competitions, as well as their 41-match unbeaten streak at the Etihad Stadium dating back to before the 2022 World Cup.
The Citizens are looking to win back-to-back FA Cups this season for the first time in their history having lifted the trophy last season en-route to winning the treble, this time bidding for their eighth FA Cup triumph which would put them joint-third on the over leaderboard.
The Premier League leaders have reached the last four of this season's competition by beating Huddersfield, Tottenham, Luton and Newcastle on their journey so far this season.
Chelsea head into Saturday evening's FA Cup semi final fresh off the back of thrashing Everton 6-0 on Monday night in the league, extending their current unbeaten run to eight matches, and have lost just one of their last 12.
Their sole defeat in that run did come in their most recent visit to Wembley, as Mauricio Pochettino's men were beaten in extra time by Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup.
The west London side's recent good form has seen them climb back into contention for a top seven finish and a place in European competition next season, with the Blues currently three points off sixth with a game in hand.
Winning the FA Cup this season would of course send them automatically into the group stage of next season's Europa League, which could yet be their most likely route of gaining qualification to the tournament with a hectic final seven league games still to play.
Chelsea are looking to pull clear into standalone third place in the all-time FA Cup leaderboard this season, as they bid for their ninth time lifting the trophy aloft, though have been beaten finalists in three of the last four seasons in the trophy.
The last two matches between the two sides have ended in stalemates, which leaves Manchester City unbeaten in their last eight matches against the Blues ahead of this weekend's semi final, which includes a 4-0 win in their most recent FA Cup meeting in last season's third round.
